These Invent Medical orthoses offer so many options of shape capture, combined with multiple options for client centric design, no longer limited by traditional fabrication of vacuum encapsulation thermoforming with varying results. Who wouldn't want a low profile flexible interface, tappered edges, rigidity in the right place, toe plate flexibility/stiffness design independent of the rest of the orthosis, low profile straps, ventilation for heat dissipation, flexible heel cup to improve proprioceptive feedback while maintaining coronal plane stabilization with an innovative heel post? As with everything else, this is not a solution for everyone but does fill a much needed niche in my opinion.

Part 2 of 2, a client of mine (James Fowler) that utilizes bilateral transtibial prostheses (suction suspension) created a great video on applying his prostheses. Not everyone has access to the electric assistive devices he demonstrates but is a good demonstration. (For my therapy collegues and prosthesis users please corroborate volume management sock methods with your prosthetist. Adding distal 1/2 length socks independent of proximal full length socks are intended to distribute weight bearing over the total surface of the residuum and not just at the knee [as mentioned in the video] nor just at the distal end, but instead, used to evenly distribute pressure to maintain total contact fit and accommodate volume/shape changes that occur through the day).
