We recognize the immense pressure on staff due to the relentless attacks on our communities, but we have also seen communities and organizations stand up and protect each other.?While training and compliance alone won't solve these attacks or the current democratic crisis, we can continue to proactively strengthen and harden our organizations to face upcoming challenges. With that said, don't miss this?timely?Nonprofit Compliance Check-Up?on Feb 12?led by?Natalie Roetzel Ossenfort, Program Director at Bolder Advocacy (Alliance for Justice)! *Nonprofit Compliance Check-Up* ?NEXT WEEK!??February 12, 2025, 11AM-1PM(PT)/ 2PM-4PM(ET) The more successful nonprofit advocates become, the more their organizations are placed under the microscope by individuals and groups who may like to see them fail. Nonprofits (and their staff) are often scrutinized as they engage in successful advocacy and civic engagement efforts, such as voter registration and legislative campaigns. After this workshop, you will have a clear understanding of how to prepare for allegations of non-compliance so that your organization can continue to advocate with confidence in 2025 and beyond. During this workshop, you will receive: -A basic refresher on the advocacy rules that apply to 501(c)(3) public charities; -Information on how to utilize Bolder Advocacy’s “Advocacy Check-up – Nonprofit Compliance Self-Assessment” to identify recordkeeping and reporting strengths and weaknesses; -Tips to address compliance gaps in your nonprofit’s operations, including sample policies and timesheets; -And more! Who Should Attend??This webinar is best suited for Operations Senior Staff who oversee advocacy and compliance, and new Executive Directors or EDs who may need a refresher. Democracy at Tides

Philanthropy mostly funds bandaids to cover gaping wounds left by corporations that have dodged paying their fair share of taxes, and the math doesn't work out. But funding organizations that get everyday people involved in systematically solving the problems that they face is a very special type of philanthropy that shifts power. Only 1% of philanthropic resources are dedicated to democracy, and even fewer to organizing. In the absence of dues-funded organizations, mobilizing more philanthropic resources for organizing is our fastest way to shift power to communities that have been historically denied it. https://lnkd.in/eyEEACaN
