?? Behind the Scenes: How NJ MED’s Program Aligns with UN Efforts ??
We are thrilled to share that the United Nations recognizes the potential of NJ MED’s 100% Graduation Rate Program to support at-risk male students worldwide. Here’s a behind-the-scenes look at how our work aligns with the UN's efforts to uplift communities globally:
?? Transformative Education Practices:
Our 4-year Cognitive-Behavioral Treatment (CBT) intervention focuses on building resilience against academic failure and addressing early signs of problem behavior. The UN projects that implementing such transformative education practices can significantly improve the lives of underprivileged male students globally.
?? Holistic Student Development:
Our program’s comprehensive approach, which includes academic support, life skills training, and career guidance, aligns with the UN’s vision for holistic student development. By addressing the multifaceted needs of students, we help them prepare for successful futures, reducing dropout rates and promoting higher education.
?? Community and Stakeholder Engagement:
The UN emphasizes the importance of community and stakeholder collaboration in driving social change. Our partnerships with businesses, academic institutions, and service organizations create a supportive network that helps students thrive. This model can be adapted worldwide to foster similar supportive ecosystems.
?? Evidence-Based Impact:
The UN values evidence-based programs that deliver tangible results. Our program boasts an 88% high school graduation rate, 67% college enrollment rate, 33% college graduation rate, only 9% involvement in the juvenile justice system, and just 2% teen parenthood. These impressive outcomes demonstrate the program's effectiveness and potential for global application.
?? Reducing Inequities:
By targeting at-risk minority males in some of the most challenging environments, we help reduce educational and social inequities. The UN believes that scaling such programs globally can break the cycle of poverty and promote social mobility in diverse communities.
?? Supporting UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):
Our work contributes to several UN SDGs, including Quality Education (Goal 4), Reduced Inequalities (Goal 10), and Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions (Goal 16). By advancing these goals, we support the UN’s mission to create a more equitable and just world.
The UN envisions that programs like ours can make a substantial impact on global education and social development. Our commitment to evidence-based practices and holistic support systems aligns with the UN’s efforts to uplift communities worldwide.
We are excited about the opportunity to extend our reach and support more students globally. Join us in our mission to make a difference. Share your thoughts and ideas on how we can further enhance our program’s impact around the world.
