This past weekend our Director of Strategic Partnerships, James Thompson, spoke at GreenFaith Circle of Southern New Jersey’s interfaith roundtable. This gathering of faith-based leaders and activists addressed the moral and spiritual imperative to protect our communities and care for the Earth. Thank you for having us and we look forward to continuing these conversations as we protect the future of our children and grandchildren.

Our voting rights are at risk nationwide, and New Jersey needs to step up to protect our state’s democracy. Congress is working to pass a bill that would severely restrict our right to vote by forcing people looking to register to vote or even change their voter registration status to go in person and provide identification to prove their citizenship status, like their birth certificate or passport. People whose names have been changed, like married women, or whose documents have been destroyed in a natural disaster like the California wildfires would be blocked from voting by these guidelines. This bill would disproportionately impact people of color. NJ needs to do more to protect the right to vote for people of our state. Call on your legislators to pass the John R. Lewis Voter Empowerment Act of New Jersey to expand the right to vote! New Jersey Institute for Social Justice https://lnkd.in/eK-4KKZg

Our Director of Strategic Partnerships, James Thompson, our Manager of Government Relations and Politics, Jasmine Metellus, and Campaigns Manager, Luke Pavlov, attended the United Black Agenda’s event unveiling their 2025 agenda. This agenda focuses on five core policy priorities aimed at tackling economic and racial inequalities in New Jersey. Our team members had the opportunity to network with legislators across the state and discuss what’s at stake. These sorts of conversations are important, thank you UBA for all your work!
