IceStone began in 2003 with a simple concept; transform waste glass into something beautiful. Made from 100% post-industrial recycled glass, cement, and non-toxic pigments, IceStone is the MOST sustainable, responsibly made, eco-friendly countertop on the market. It is also one of the most safest countertop materials to use and for fabricators to work with. To date, IceStone has diverted over 16 million lbs of glass from being dumped in landfills. In October 2019, IceStone launched the NEW IceStone which has been reformulated, incorporating a permanent protective treatment giving NEW IceStone superior stain resistance, increased heat resistance, UV stability, the ability to be used for outdoor applications, and increased recycled content that further reduces our carbon footprint. Practicing sustainability not only with its product, IceStone’s factory is day-lit to take advantage of natural light reducing its use of electricity; they use steam powered kilns to cure the slabs; have a water recycling system used in production, and have electric/hybrid forklifts.
