In 2020, Richard and his beloved dog found themselves homeless when the COVID-19 pandemic turned their world upside down. For three long years, they navigated survival in the woods. But in 2023, everything began to change when Richard discovered New Hope Housing Dale Carnegie. Today, Richard is transforming his life with the support of New Hope Housing's affordable Housing + Services. He is now enrolled in a Molecular Biology program at Houston Community College and plans to continue his education at the University of Houston. Richard's story is a testament to resilience and hope—and to the power of community.
