Last Thursday, Career Day at New Hope Christian Academy gave students a hands-on opportunity to explore the future! From firefighters and police officers to community partners, entrepreneurs, healthcare professionals, bankers and more — students had the chance to learn about a wide range of careers directly from the people who live them every day. Students also dressed up as their future careers, adding even more excitement and creativity to the day. Today is Ash Wednesday. A day to pause, reflect, and remember that we are all sinners in need of a Savior. The ashes placed on our foreheads remind us that we came from dust—and to dust we will return. But because of Jesus, we have hope beyond the dust! During today’s Ash Wednesday service, faculty took time to pray over our students and staff, covering them in prayer as the season of Lent starts. ?????? ???????????? ?????? ????????!?? Last Monday, our third grade boys’ basketball team was celebrated by the Crosscheck league, who gifted each player their own personal basketball to sign after their exciting 27-25 victory over The Knights! Go Eagles! ??

NHCA wrapped up #BlackHistoryMonth yesterday afternoon with a powerful and inspiring program, "The Evolution of a People: Africa Before American Slavery," led by our incredible Librarian & Family Engagement Specialist, Ms. Ware. Thank you to Ms. Ware, our dedicated faculty and staff, and—most importantly—our amazing students for bringing history to life through song, dance, and storytelling. The program was beautifully done, and we appreciate all the hard work and practice that made this such a meaningful and fun-filled learning experience for everyone! ??????

First-grade students did an amazing job presenting their Black History Cereal Box Projects! This month, our first-grade students have been learning about influential Black pioneers and worked hard to bring their stories to life. They proudly presented their projects in the gym to faculty, staff, and parents! We are so proud of their hard work and dedication! #BlackHistoryMonth #AmericanHistory

This month, we are thrilled to recognize Mrs. Emily Higginbotham as the recipient of "The Filler/Good Neighbor Award!" Mrs. Higginbotham has been a dedicated first-grade teacher at New Hope Christian Academy for three years, making a meaningful impact on our students and school community. She played a key role in bringing the Health Students Teach Memphis Youth partnership—an organization operating through The University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Medicine—to NHCA, enriching our students' learning with hands-on health education! Each month, NHCA will recognize a faculty or staff member who exemplifies patience and kindness as described in 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 and who truly lives out Matthew 22:39— "Love your neighbor as yourself."
