Today, #NHCgov celebrated 97 county employees who supported relief efforts from Hurricane Helene in Western North Carolina. Chosen for their experience and expertise, staff from multiple departments deployed to assist in emergency operations, swift water rescue and response, 911 communications, and more recovery efforts. Each employee was also recognized with a Stellar Award for Accountability for showcasing one of the county's shared values in its truest form. This is what public service looks like - not just the everyday commitment to our community, but the willingness to go above and beyond in service to those truly in need.
