Kristie, a co-op employee and Project Care Board Member, understands the value of supporting those in our community. She recalls her childhood when her family struggled to pay the electric bill, an experience that inspires her to help others in need today. "I understand how difficult it is, so I try to use that empathy when I talk with people about how to keep the power on and get their bill paid." - Kristie Project care is built on the belief that by helping each other, we can all get through tough times. If you're someone who needs help, please fill out an application: https://lnkd.in/ggaf3Nvm

Thank you to our volunteers who rang the bell for the Salvation Army this past Friday and Saturday. We raised an incredible total of $679.70. But that’s not all! Our Foundation is generously matching these donations, which brings our total contribution to the Salvation Army to $1,359.40. This is how we like to see our community come together to support a great cause!

The power of community and the difference we can make when we help one another is at the heart of our Project Care program. Funded 100% by donations, we’re helping families keep the lights on when they need it most. The loss of a job. An illness. Unexpected setbacks. The truth is – anyone can fall on hard times. Co-op employees share real stories from members of our community who’ve struggled. Thank you to all who have contributed. In this season of giving, if you can, please consider supporting Project Care. https://lnkd.in/eGDJyNX6

Members of our Andover District assisted in decorating the Christmas tree at the Wilmot Community Association (WCA). We’re always happy to lend a bucket truck (or two) and a helping hand to brighten the holidays in our communities. Hope you all continue to make this a safe, and happy holiday season.

Angie Miller’s inspiration for Plymouth Soapworks on Main Street came from her daughter with a Christmas gift wish: plastic-free products. Serving in Americorps, the 25-year-old couldn’t afford to buy sustainable products. Miller, a retired public school teacher who had integrated equity and environmentalism into her curriculum, brought these ideas to a lather. NHEC is proud to support our local businesses and we encourage our members to shop local. For more, hear her story. #smallbusinesssaturday2024 #ShopLocal #ShopSmall

Fresh out of high school, Gavan Peaslee knew he would enjoy working outdoors. The Wakefield resident was the recipient of the fourth annual $2,500 NHEC Lineworker Scholarship. Before graduating from Northwest Lineman College in Idaho earlier this month, Gavan, who had been working in the family towing business, got a taste of some similarities to his chosen career like working with the public and challenging weather conditions. NHEC CEO and President Alyssa Clemsen Roberts was on hand with operations leadership to present Gavan with his scholarship certificate. Congratulations Gavan Peaslee! Applications for the 2025 Lineworker Scholarship will start being accepted on January 1, 2025.
