For over 25 years, New Futures has provided nonpartisan, evidence-based solutions to New Hampshire’s health challenges. We work to build bridges among policymakers and secure the passage of laws that improve access to early childhood supports, health insurance, substance use treatment, and prevention programming. Through policy change, we can ensure that social service programs and statewide systems work for everyone—especially the populations they are designed to serve. At New Futures, we work to improve the health and well-being of all Granite Staters through public policy change and civic empowerment. We envision communities where public policies allow all New Hampshire residents equitable opportunities to live, work, and thrive. BREAKING: Unfortunately, the New Hampshire House of Representatives just voted by voice to table House Bill 432, which would support the development of recovery housing in our state. ? This means the bill will not move forward this session. While this is not the outcome we wanted, we are thankful for our advocates who have made their voices heard and highlighted how important recovery housing is for our communities. UPDATE: ?? The New Hampshire State Senate just voted unanimously to pass Senate Bill 244! The bill was then tabled for possible inclusion in the state budget bills when they cross over! Senate Bill 244 builds on the work of the NH Health Care Workforce Coalition to address our state’s workforce crisis that impacts access to quality and timely health care for our residents. This bill includes investments in programs and initiatives that attract, train, and retain health care workers within the Granite State. ???????? ?? Meet Adam! ?? Adam is a dedicated advocate for recovery housing, with a focus on mental health and substance use. As one of New Hampshire’s first certified recovery home owners, he knows firsthand how critical a safe, supportive environment is for those in early recovery. ?? Adam has been a powerful voice at the NH State House, advocating to improve resources for those facing substance misuse. In January, Adam testified at the public hearing for HB 432, the bill that would support the development of recovery housing in our state. He shared his personal experience and the challenges faced by the recovery community, ensuring their voices were heard in the legislative process.
