In an effort to introduce and prepare talented minority youth for career opportunities within film and advertising, New Flight has partnered with the LA Promise Fund to highlight the work of students from South Central LA (ages 12-18) in the art forms of graphic design, animation, photography and film. Participating students will present their work and ideas at our New Flight Winter Showcase (December 10th) and our annual New Flight Award Show (June 3rd) where they will be competing for educational grants and other rewards. To help generate excitement and increase student participation, New Flight is asking for your help as we look to diversify the creative fields in LA.? Below are ways for you to get involved! 1) Tune-In: Attend our Winter Showcase on Friday, December 10th 2021 and? our New Flight Award Show on Friday, June 3rd 2022 via Zoom.? As part of attending, we ask that you ask the presenters questions and at the end vote for your favorites. 2) Become a NF Volunteer: We're looking for professionals willing to help motivate and progress student projects. By pairing you with a #art teacher within the LA Promise Fund Charter School system you will get to share your story (title, what you do, how you got there, and a relevant case study you have worked on).? 3) Donate: We need donations to fund the educational grants, resources for the after school programs, training videos, and promotional services. Branded Swag also works great as giveaways to further motivate the students!?? 4)?Sponsor: We are offering the opportunity to sponsor our after school program and our Winter Showcase and Award Show.? Sponsorships range from after-school classes where you can define a specific assignment for students to sponsored awards at our events.
