Academy of Careers and Technology and Conn-Weld Industries, LLC 2024-2025 Manufacturing Innovation Challenge New River Region The Academy of Careers and Technology team kicked off their challenge with a tour of Conn-Weld Industries, LLC's facility in Princeton, WV. They were tasked with designing an adjustable fixture that would provide a stable base for assembling parts while accommodating various equipment sizes. The fixture must be flexible enough to support different sizes of equipment during the assembly process. James Rumsey Technical Institute and Technimark LLC 2024-2025 Manufacturing Innovation Challenge - Eastern Region The team from James Rumsey Technical Institute kicked off their participation in the 2024-2025 Manufacturing Innovation Challenge with an in-depth tour of Technimark’s manufacturing facility in Inwood, WV. Their task is to design an innovative end-of-line detection system capable of identifying and removing defects in the injection-molded caps used by Procter & Gamble, ensuring only high-quality products are delivered. This visit offered a firsthand look at the company's production processes and its dedication to quality assurance.
