New Era Colorado was honored to meet yesterday with Mexico’s General Consulate in Denver, Pável Meléndez Cruz! Together, we’re committed to breaking down barriers so all people can access our democracy. Our state should be shaped and represented by the people who live here, and one way we can do that is by voting. Our vote is our voice. When we all show up, we can shape the election results and make steps toward justice for our communities, our generation, and our future. But voting is just one way to shape our democracy. We also build political power by raising our voices in places of power, helping inform our communities about the issues that matter, and taking action to combat threats to our human rights. Policies affect everyone living in the US–no matter where you’re from. That’s why the Youth Agenda advocates for a liberated world for ALL people, not just those who are eligible to vote. Our voting power played a key role in electing two Youth Agenda Champs to fight for us in the house: Yara Zokaie and Katie Stewart! Our third race to re-elect Rep. Stephanie Vigil is soooo close (like 7 votes) that it’s headed to an automatic recount.

No matter what happens tonight, we’re here and we’re not going anywhere. We'll keep fighting for progress on the Youth Agenda regardless of the results.
