Our New Enterprise Forum monthly forum meeting happens tomorrow, Thursday, October 17, at Ann Arbor SPARK, beginning at 5 PM. There will be a pitch pit competition with Noah Barr, Co-Founder and CEO of Streetmeet, Anthony Bird, Co-Founder of Culturebie, and Jeff Dwoskin, Co-Founder of Stampede Social as the presenting entrepreneurs with the judges being Jacquelene Barnes, Capital Growth Program Manager at TechTown Detroit, Ben Chutz, Growth Partner at IMPACT Initiatives, and Christopher Hart, Co-Founder and CEO at gBeat.com. We will also have a special NEF alumni update from Josef Hjelmaker, Founder and CEO of Electric Outdoors, who had made his showcase investor presentation at our NEF forum a year ago. Streetmeet is a Bluetooth social network that allows you to connect and meet with people you pass by in real life that share your interests. Culturebie is using AI to bridge the gap between employee experience initiatives and real business outcomes by measuring corporate culture. Stampede Social is a centralized platform that makes it easier, faster and smarter to sell on social media. These are all startup ideas that entrepreneurs will be presenting at the upcoming New Enterprise Forum Pitch Pit Competition this Thursday, October 17, at Ann Arbor SPARK as part of our monthly NEF forum event. The pitch pit competitors will be Noah Barr, Founder of Streetmeet; Anthony Bird, Co-Founder of Culturebie; and Jeff Dwoskin, Co-Founder of Stampede Social. The New Enterprise Forum October forum meeting is now just one week away on Thursday, October 17, at Ann Arbor SPARK. The event will kick off at 5:00 p.m. with food, drink and networking, with the programming starting at 5:45 p.m.. New Enterprise Forum would like to congratulate six of our NEF coaching alumni for being invited to present last Friday at the #Invest360 event from Ann Arbor SPARK as part of its #a2Tech360 week-long celebration of innovation and entrepreneurship! The six presenting were Dan Champoux from GEKOT Robotics Inc.; Josef Hjelmaker from Electric Outdoors; Lynne Matallana from PainTools ?; Tim Moore from Clixie AI; Joey Panella from Decimal Code; and Ashley M. Williams from RIZZARR. Special congratulations to Josef and Electric Outdoors for winning the $50K prize in the Mobility category, Joey and Decimal Code for winning the $50K prize in the Healthcare category and then also going on to win the People's Choice Award for an additional $50K check. New Enterprise Forum Coaching. Perfecting. Connecting. At our NEF monthly forum meeting this past Thursday, we did all that and more. We had a showcase investor presentation from Elliot Smith, PE, Founder and CEO of Motmot, after his completion of the NEF coaching process. (And we also all sang Happy Birthday to Elliot!). We had a truly insightful educational panel discussion on the topic of "Hiring Right - When and How to Hire Your Team and Advisors" that was moderated by Jen Laidlaw, Owner of TeamWerks Talent Development and Consulting, LLC with our panelists being Kurt Baumgarten, Partner at GM Ventures, David Behen, Chief Client Success Officer and Co-Founder of SensCy and Michael Kloc, CEO and Founder of Forest Harbor Ventures. And, of course, we had networking opportunities before and after the program. It was a wonderful event, as we helped kick off the start of #a2Tech360 program from Ann Arbor SPARK. Thanks to all who attended and participated and a special thanks to NETSCOUT for hosting us!
