Yesterday, in honor of #WorldMentalHealthDay, I had the privilege of presenting on mental health policy, both state and federal opportunities, at the New England Board of Higher Education’s (NEBHE) Annual LAC Meeting alongside Dr. Sarah Ketchen-Lipson of Healthy Minds Network , Charles Morse, Dean of Student Wellness, Worcester Polytechnic Institute, & Grace Moore, Student Advocate, Brown University. We had insightful discussions about how we can make youth mental health and wellness a core priority in strategic planning across higher education guided by timely data, centering equity, engaging stakeholders, and scaling promising practices. It is wonderful to engage with regional compacts like NEBHE, who continue to prioritize student well-being at the forefront of their policy efforts and initiatives. NEBHE had the pleasure of collaborating with exceptional leaders and organizations to host the Tech Talent Ecosystem Summit at Quinnipiac University this past month. The Summit showcased the innovations and lessons learned from the Tech Talent Accelerator (https://lnkd.in/gj8xpXt7). A special thank you to our Board Chair, Rep. Gregory Haddad for his instrumental role in representing our organization. ICYMI: The Tech Talent Ecosystem Summit? brought together higher education leaders, tech industry leaders, policymakers, workforce development organizations, nonprofit organizations, and credential providers for critical discussions about cultivating talent for Connecticut’s evolving tech workforce. “How do we make sure that we have a workforce that is able to critically think and adapt to those new ways of working?” Accenture’s Carol Quinn Toomey said. The summit was a collaboration between CBIA, CT Office of Workforce Strategy, Business-Higher Education Forum, and the New England Board of Higher Education.
