Lauri Burns is a renowned inspirational speaker who travels the map telling her inspirational life story in the hope to heal the hearts of people everywhere. For the past fifteen years she has been inspiring audiences with her heartfelt story of courage, forgiveness, love and success. Lauri is an inspirational speaker, an Author, a fortunate 100 executive and business owner, The Founder of The Teen Project and has fostered 30 at risk youth in her personal home. In the past five years she has shared her heartfelt story at over 240 venues. Lauri is a remarkable advocate for foster youth and a survivor of a challenging past. As a former foster child herself, she experienced the harsh realities of the system, including abuse and homelessness. Despite these obstacles, she transformed her life and became a successful entrepreneur. Lauri is best known for founding The Teen Project, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing support, housing, and resources to at-risk and homeless young women who have aged out of the foster care system. Her story is one of resilience and determination, and she continues to inspire many by giving back and creating opportunities for those in need.

In gender-specific treatment, women can receive care in a secure, comfortable and supportive environment. Women may find it easier to open up when surrounded by other women, especially when their addiction is related to gender-specific experiences. This includes issues such as pregnancy, motherhood, or relationship trauma. ??

Hi friends & collegues, We are grateful to have a four-decade history?supporting?women, families, and children in their recovery from addiction. Our clinical motto is “Love, Kindness, and Compassion in All Things,” which is evidence of how our staff interacts with each other as well as the clients. In the last 40+ years, we have grown into a serene, safe sanctuary for healing in Costa Mesa (Southern California). Our rehab center in California is a block from Newport Beach’s Back Bay and Nature Preserve. We offer a full continuum of care from detox to outpatient care so that women can enter treatment at whichever level is appropriate for them. We are committed to supporting and treating?all women. We are a rehab for women, with a model designed by women. Our directed approach caters to the variables women face in life and in treatment. At New Directions, our women-focused model has proven to be more effective long term than attending a traditional co-ed program. Women and men have different needs, and we believe that treatment modalities should reflect that.
