关于我们
New Detroit is a coalition of 57 nonprofit, corporate, and civic leaders working to achieve racial understanding and racial equity in Metropolitan Detroit. We were formed in response to civil unrest in 1967 at the request of then Michigan Governor George Romney, Detroit Mayor Jerome Cavanagh, and business executive Joseph L. Hudson, Jr. to identify what went wrong, what needed to change, and how to make that change happen. New Detroit’s work is organized around three pillars: thought leadership, policy advocacy, and collective action.

New Detroit kicked off our roundtable discussions at the Just Lead: Advancing Racial Equity conference with?this report?by Detroit Future City to demonstrate how racism impacts many areas of life. The report acknowledges there are many more other impacted areas, and that one common indicator of overall community health is life expectancy. Let us know your thoughts.

I'm thrilled to announce my return to Metro Detroit! Recently, I had the honor of delivering a keynote speech in the Detroit area, and it was an incredibly rewarding experience. Now, I am looking forward to attending the Advancing Racial Equity Conference by New Detroit, Inc. as an attendee. This is a fantastic opportunity to engage with like-minded professionals and gain insights from some of the leading voices in the field. I am eager to network with colleagues who are working in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) and Human Resources (HR). If you are attending the conference or are based in the area, I would love to connect and discuss how we can collaborate to further advance racial equity in our respective fields. Let’s make a positive impact together! If you're interested in attending, go to https://lnkd.in/gXPsvEqg. #MetroDetroit #DEI #AdvancingRacialEquity #Networking #HR
