Celebrating a Milestone in Affordable Housing Development! ?? We are incredibly proud to announce the launch of NBT's first housing project as a lead developer, in collaboration with our new sister development agency, Hub City Housing. This initiative is a significant step forward in our mission to make homeownership accessible for first-time, low- and moderate-income homebuyers in New Brunswick. This week, we gathered on Drift Street to mark the beginning of this transformative journey. The project involves refurbishing a home at 50 Drift St. into a beautiful single-family residence and rehabilitating a two-family home at 270 Power St., offering both homeownership and affordable rental opportunities. Our President and CEO, Jaymie Santiago, passionately stated, “Housing is more than just a structure; it's a place to set roots, raise families, and create lifelong memories. Our commitment is to improve the quality of life for all residents in New Brunswick, and this project is a crucial step in that direction.” Thank you to the funders that made this project possible: the NJDCA's Affordable Housing Trust Fund and the Neighborhood Revitalization Tax Credit Program (NRTC), including the companies that supported the project through the NRTC. Special thanks to Magyar Bank, OceanFirst Bank, PNC Bank, Valley Bank, Provident Bank, and others for their invaluable support. We also want to highlight the vital role of our partnership with Restrepo & Associates, whose expertise and dedication have been instrumental in bringing this project to life. Their collaboration with our team ensures that we deliver quality housing solutions that truly benefit the community. This project symbolizes hope and opportunity for families in our community. We look forward to completing these homes by late winter and celebrating the new homeowners who will soon call New Brunswick their permanent home. Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to move people forward and transform lives, one household at a time. #AffordableHousing #CommunityDevelopment #Homeownership #NewBrunswickTomorrow #HousingForAll

?? ICYMI, we made the paper ?? I'm so proud of my team at New Brunswick Tomorrow and all the goodness to come from this critically important initiative for our great City. Housing is more than a building with a door and four walls... it's an intimate place we call home; a home to set roots, to raise our families, to share memories and to connect, broadly, in meaningful ways with our friends, family and communities. Unfortunately, the housing ecosystem has placed this dream out-of-reach for many of us in New Jersey; Black, Brown, Asian, Immigrant, Senior, Student, etc... Our mission and my commitment to making a difference remains steadfast - - to improve the quality of life for ALL residents in New Brunswick - - so, this groundbreaking has launched us into a new space, focused on Housing development through Hub City Housing, to walk alongside families and to transform lives, one household at a time. Big shout out to all the NRTC funders! CURE Auto Insurance, NJM Insurance Group, Jeff Richardson, Colin Dansberry, Magyar Bank, John Reissner, M&T Bank, Alle Ries, OceanFirst Bank, Helen Steblecki, Tania Lopez, Thomas Vogel, Peapack-Gladstone Bank | Private Banking since 1921, PNC, Yasmin Pe?a, William Best Provident Bank, Roxanne Vivanco Camejo, Samantha Plotino Selective Insurance, Valley Bank, Sofi Cordero, Sonia Amorim, The City of New Brunswick, the Housing and Community Development Network of New Jersey, and the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs for all your support and amazing staff. And, of course, my neighborhood Dream team: Charles Bergman, Diana Diaz Tapia, Celmira Cordero, & Jovanny Belisario, working alongside John E. Restrepo (Restrepo & Associates)
