Happy World Health Day! Today, we were honored to welcome members of Orlando Health as they toured New Beginnings to learn more about the heart behind what we do and why we do it. From transitional housing to wraparound services and affordable homeownership, they got a glimpse into the hope-filled mission that fuels our team daily. Even more inspiring? They didn’t just visit, they rolled up their sleeves and volunteered around our campus, showing what servant-hearted leadership looks like in action. We are so grateful for their partnership, their willingness to serve, and their commitment to whole-person care, both in and outside the hospital. Thank you, Orlando Health, for making a difference today and every day. Finding Hope After the Storm When Hurricane winds tore through the community, Delyhs never imagined the lasting impact it would have on her life. The storm left her home with severe mold damage, triggering her asthma and making it nearly impossible to stay. As the damage mounted, so did the challenges, she lost her job, fell behind on rent, and faced the looming threat of eviction. Desperate for a way forward, Delyhs turned to New Beginnings. She initially visited the resource room for resume assistance and job searching, but that visit led her to something greater, hope. She met Jenny, one of New Beginnings’ dedicated case managers, who took the time to listen and help her navigate her options. Jenny connected Delyhs with People Ready, a company offering immediate job opportunities, allowing her to start earning again. She also guided Delyhs through the FEMA application process, which was eventually approved, providing much-needed funds for home repairs and past-due rent. Beyond paperwork and logistics, Jenny offered emotional support, encouraging Delyhs every step of the way. Recently, FEMA extended its aid, granting an additional six months of rental assistance. With renewed stability, Delyhs reflected on her journey, emphasizing the power of faith and community support. She credits New Beginnings for stepping in at the right moment and helping her regain control of her future. Delyhs’ story is a testament to the strength that comes from perseverance and the kindness of those willing to lend a hand.
