The U.S. Congress is contemplating making significant cuts to Medicaid - a longstanding program that plays an important role in continuing the mission of community health centers (CHCs) to expand access to healthcare. Our latest blog explores the critical role of CHCs in the healthcare system and how cuts to Medicaid will hurt the patients we serve. NEVHC staff and board members attended the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC) Policy & Issues Forum last week. We were excited to join other community health centers (CHCs) in advocating to protect Medicaid to ensure our patients can continue accessing their CHCs for affordable, quality care. Thank you to Congressman Brad Sherman, Congresswoman Luz Rivas, and the office of Congressman George Whitesides for meeting with us to discuss the vital role NEVHC and all CHCs play in supporting our communities.
