The Knowledge Fund established during the 2011 Legislative Session, has set the stage for groundbreaking technologies and start-ups to emerge, right here in the Silver State. Knowledge Fund-supported projects are tackling issues that Nevadans face daily, and they are providing solutions such as drought impact mitigation, population health and personalized medicine, and traffic and pedestrian safety. To continue this vital work, Governor Lombardo’s Executive Budget proposes a significant enhancement to the Knowledge Fund, ensuring sustained investment in use-inspired research, technology, and industry growth. This enhancement will create new opportunities for entrepreneurs, high-growth businesses, and research institutions, further solidifying our state’s position as a leader in innovation.
