We are honored to recognize two heroic donors on JOEY GASE MOTORSPORTS, LC.’s vehicle during the 2024 Fall NASCAR weekend at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Meet Chevy. He was 18 years old when he became an organ and tissue donor in November of 2022. When Chevy was asked if he understood what the little red heart on his driver’s license meant, he replied, “They can spread my parts all over the world.” He saved multiple lives with his heart, lungs, kidneys, liver and tissue. Chevy came into this world feet first in Las Vegas, NV in August of 2004. He spent his youth playing multiple sports including baseball, basketball, flag football, volleyball and wrestling. Chevy was not only an honor student, but also highly involved in speech and debate (another four-year commitment he had during high school). He even played baritone and trombone in his high school’s band which allowed him to perform in Normandy, France to commemorate the 75th anniversary of D-Day. Chevy graduated from Foothill High School in May of 2022 and went on to college with a full ride scholarship. Outside of school, he was working on learning real estate, stocks and trading. Chevy loved music, sports cars, swimming and working out. He truly enjoyed hanging out with his friends and spending time with his baby sister. Chevy was well known for his funny nature and smile (he could make anyone laugh). He was also the guy everyone went to when they were having a bad day, needing advice or lacking motivation. Chevy was the definition of a true friend. He taught everyone he knew to appreciate all the things around us. Chevy’s family has a rose bush outside of their front door and one thing everyone closest to him knew was he never walked past that bush without stopping to smell every rose. In 2024, an estimated 310,720 women and 2,800 men will be diagnosed with invasive breast cancer. Chances are, you know at least one person who has been personally affected by breast cancer. 68% of patients undergo a mastectomy. Mastectomy is the partial or complete removal of the breast tissue including the nipple. His family shared that he truly lived his life passionately. From the smallest of tasks to the biggest life ventures, Brandon did it with his whole heart. He loved his family fiercely and was the best mechanic you could ask for. Brandon’s love for his nephew and nieces was unsurpassable. He was taken from them quickly and tragically. Although it broke them in ways they could never have imagined, it brought some comfort knowing Brandon was healthy and young. Due to this, his organs extended the lives of several others. He truly was the most selfless being even to strangers. Being the baby of the family, Brandon held them together. They miss and love him. They pray for Brandon’s recipients and their ongoing health.
