There's been a flurry of executive orders at a rapid pace with the new administration, and we are keeping a close eye on how this may impact small businesses. Small business is our business, so it's important to separate truth from misinformation and it's vital to stay informed. Here are 5 ways that the recent executive orders by POTUS might impact small businesses. 1. Hiring Freeze and Workforce Reductions: A federal hiring freeze and workforce reduction might increase opportunities for service contractors. However, long-term cuts could reduce overall contract opportunities. 2. Enhanced "Buy American": Small businesses in manufacturing or those using American materials might benefit, but those reliant on global supply chains could face challenges. 3.Defense Sector Growth: Increased defense spending could open more contracts for small businesses in defense tech, cybersecurity, or military supplies, though competition will likely increase. 4. Environmental Policy Changes: Small businesses in green tech or renewable energy might face reduced federal support, while those in traditional energy sectors could find new opportunities. 5. Delayed Funding: Delays in funding from acts like the Inflation Reduction Act could impact construction, infrastructure, and clean energy small businesses, affecting their projects and cash flow.
