Welcome to the the Medical College of Wisconsin's Neuroscience Research Center (NRC) page! We are a catalyst for advancing new, cutting-edge medications and strategies to prevent and treat neurological disorders, and strive to enhance basic and translational neuroscience at MCW through the development of an MCW-wide programmatic plan. By integrating with MCW’s other key departments, as well as leading neuroscientists throughout Milwaukee and beyond, the NRC emphasizes the importance of collaborative neuroscience research in strengthening and differentiating clinical care at MCW and its affiliates. Therapeutic Accelerator Program at Medical College of Wisconsin (Department of Pharmacology & Toxicology)
Congratulations to Dr. Cecilia Hillard (Professor of Pharmacology & Toxicology, Director of the Neuroscience Research Center, Associate Dean for Research, and G. Frederick Kasten, Jr. Chair in Parkinson’s Disease Research - Medical College of Wisconsin) for receiving the 2024 Hector F. DeLuca Scientific Achievement Award from BioForward, Inc. yesterday at the Wisconsin Biohealth Summit. We applaud this well-deserved recognition. Thank you to Terri DeRoon-Cassini for highlighting Dr. Hillard’s contributions that earned the respect and admiration of so many and her place as a top 2% global research scientist. Dr. Hillard is the recipient of a 2022 MCW Therapeutic Accelerator Program funding award for her therapeutic development project (that is both successfully advancing and a model of team science at its best). As a Professor in our department and a graduate of our department, Dr. Hillard’s 40+ years of contributions to MCW Pharmacology & Toxicology are too numerous and valuable to be counted.
