NeuroRestorative Medical Directors Conference 2024!? This year the Medical Directors Conference was held in Chicago, IL. This event allowed wonderful conversations to take place and we were able to have a lot of our Medical Directors from different states be able to meet each other, interact face to face, and learn more about various programs. NeuroRestorative takes great pride in the amount of dedication we put forth to provide the best care to the people we serve and it was amazing seeing the same dedication coming from all of the individuals that attended this event. NASHIA conference! Jessica Long attended the coffee talk at the NASHIA conference and spoke on advocacy and provider partnerships.

NeuroRestorative participated in the BIAMA’s Run, Walk, and Roll! NeuroRestorative had approximately 30 participants and staff at the event which was held on the Cape Cod Canal. It was an amazing day and everyone had a great time!

October 10th marks World Mental Health Day! ?? World Mental Health Day is an international day for mental health education and awareness. Welcome to Our Open House!?? Last week, we proudly opened our new Genesee Treatment Center in Flint Michigan, which houses both our vocational programming and a dedicated clinical space for therapy. We hosted an open house that was a great success, with participation from both the people we serve and external guests. The event provided an excellent opportunity for networking and showcased our expanded offerings. The new facility includes a larger vocational space designed to provide the people we serve with a wide range of opportunities, such as fitness programs, creative groups, a woodshop, a computer training area, production and assembly activities, and more. This expanded space allows us to better support the people we serve's growth and development across multiple areas.

Self Care is the Best Care!?? At our Chicagoland Illinois program they had a self-care fair which included activities like coloring/painting, relaxation techniques, music for relaxation, active listening, ways to take care of yourself, and mindfulness walking which is (identifying five things you can see, four things you can touch, three things you can hear, two things you can smell, and one thing you can taste). This helps shift your focus from anxiety-provoking thoughts to the present moment. Thank you to our team for putting such a great event together!

October is #PhysicalTherapyAwarenessMonth. This annual occurrence is our opportunity to honor Physical Therapists and Physical Therapy Assistants at NeuroRestorative and worldwide who make a difference in the lives of those we serve and their families.

Brain Injury 101?? Dr. Willingham presented a presentation called Brain Injury 101 at the PAM Hospital, which was a great success. Clinical and non-clinical staff attended this presentation which resulted in lots of positive discussions and questions.
