This is an important reminder that shareholders and customers have the final say in deciding what is important in business. Pay attention to shareholder communications, investor relation opportunities, and votes - take the opportunity to communicate the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion!
In a blow to the anti-DEI movement, Apple shareholders rejected the proposal to scale back the company's DEI programming this morning. This follows a similar vote from Costco shareholders last month, while some companies remove DEI language from their annual reports.

Nonprofits Must Lead the Way in DEI—No Matter What Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion is not just a trend. It’s not optional. It is the foundation of justice, access, and opportunity—especially for the communities we serve. As nonprofits, our work exists because systemic inequities persist. And no matter what the federal government says, our commitment to dismantling these barriers cannot waver. When policies shift, when funding is threatened, when opposition grows louder—that is when we must double down. The individuals and families who rely on our services are often the very people impacted by systemic oppression. If we abandon DEI, we abandon them. Nonprofits hold more power than many realize. We influence policy, shape communities, and create real pathways for change. Now is the time to use that power—to stand together, push forward, and ensure that justice, equity, and inclusion remain central to everything we do. We are not just service providers. We are system disruptors. Let’s continue to be bold in that role. #NonprofitsLead #DEIMatters #EquityInAction #SystemsChange

Fact: Hiring disabled workers does not mean that standards are lowered. Disability inclusion makes organizations stronger. #neurodiversity #disability
Blaming an air crash on disability hiring? Trump is doing exactly that. He is blaming DEI, specifically hiring disabled people, for a midair collision between a helicopter and a plane that resulted in the deaths of 67 people. This is not just false. It’s dangerous, reckless, and rooted in ableist fearmongering. There is no evidence. The cause of the crash is under investigation. Blaming DEI is pure scapegoating. Claiming inclusion leads to incompetence is both wrong and absurd. Inclusion doesn't lower standards, it lowers barriers. This claim is rife with discrimination and fuels continued discrimination. It promotes the false idea that disabled people (or any marginalized group) can’t be skilled, intelligent, and qualified professionals. He specifically claimed that air traffic controllers need to be geniuses, implying that people with disabilities can't be. The truth is, many people with disabilities are in fact geniuses, but aren't recognized for it because of the very bias and discrimination that Trump displays. Not to mention, many who are great at their job, even in air traffic control, aren't geniuses. They just have the required skillset and training. The FAA's efforts to hire disabled employees did not lower standards. They had to go through the same training, pass the same medical requirements, and meet the same standards. Implying otherwise shows your ignorance, not a lack of skill in disabled professionals. Trumps claim isn't about facts, it's about dehumanizing and eroding rights of specific groups. Baselessly blame the marginalized people, make us sound talentless, dangerous, and stupid while using your spotlight to spread misinformation. DEI doesn’t cause accidents. It could be a complex combination of factors including environmental issues, mechanical failures, and yes, possibly human error. Because ALL humans can and do err. Even in important times.
