????Dispatches from Day Four of the #EUOceanDays2025 from Brussels! The second part of #BlueInvestDay in 2025 by #DGMare took place yesterday; we have been actively participating in this from the very beginning of this initiative - back in 2018, Spyros Kouvelis was the first MC in a small gathering of dedicated professionals and impact investors - so promising and satisfying seeing how impactful this initiative it has become and, as a #BlueInvest grantee myself, I can vouch for the significance of this program. Great to be part of the discussions with #OceanFunds and #ImpactInvestors - thank you to the PwC Luxembourg and European Investment Bank (EIB) teams for including us in the workshops. ?? NEW INTERVIEW ?? This week, the second edition of the #EUOceanDays2025 is taking place in Brussels. It covers, among other topics, the EU Mission: Restore our Ocean and Waters, one of the EU Missions coordinated by the European Commission to mobilise and activate public and private actors, such as EU Member States, regional and local authorities, research institutes, farmers and land managers, entrepreneurs and investors to create real and lasting impact. In this new interview, Spyros Kouvelis, Board Member of the EU Mission: Restore our Ocean and Waters, delves into main objectives of the EU Mission, the important role that the ocean can play in addressing climate change and its synergies with the?EU Mission on Adaptation to Climate Change, in which NeuroClima has been an active participant. ?? ?? CLEAN INDUSTRIAL DEAL ?? ?? The European Commission launched the Clean Industrial Deal that?outlines concrete actions to turn #decarbonisation into a driver of growth for European industries. In this new era, the EU must address three challenges at once: a climate crisis and its consequences, #competitiveness concerns and economic #resilience. The #CleanIndustrialDeal focus on energy-intensive industries and the clean-tech sector that are indispensable to accelerate decarbonisation, #reindustrialisation and #innovation and reinforce Europe's resilience. The Deal brings together #climateaction and competitiveness under one overarching growth strategy. According to the European Commission, it confirms the EU's dedication to its climate goals by offering clear business incentives for industry to decarbonise within Europe. The main elements of the Deal are: ?? Access to affordable energy ? ?? Boosting demand for clean products ?? ?? Financing the clean transition ?? ?? Circularity and access to materials ?? ?? Acting on a global scale ?? ?? Skills and quality jobs ?? Regarding the clean transition financing, the Commission will adopt a new Clean Industrial Deal State Aid Framework, strengthen the Innovation Fund, propose an Industrial Decarbonisation Bank, launch a dedicated call under #HorizonEurope to stimulate research and innovation in these areas, and amend the InvestEU Regulation to increase the amount the financial guarantees that InvestEU can provide to support investments. ?? ?? MEET THE PARTNERS ?? The new episode delves into the work of Novelcore with the fruitful contributions of Theodora Kousta. Novelcore is an #SME, founded in 2019, specialised in developing and designing advanced information systems with an emphasis on research and development activities. It develops #AI driven solutions with a strong expertise in knowledge discovery mechanisms, semantic data analysis, knowledge graphs, natural language processing, and decision support systems. In NeuroClima, #Novelcore leads the technical development of the AI-boosted nervous system, which is central to the project's #climateadaptation goals. They are responsible for designing and implementing the #policy observatory, which monitors and analyses climate-related policies, mainly related to the EU Adaptation Strategy and the Mission on Adaptation to Climate Change. ?? What is the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change? ?? The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) was established by the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) and the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) in 1988.?It was created to provide policymakers with regular scientific assessments on climate change, its implications and potential future risks, as well as to put forward #adaptation and #mitigation options. Until now, the IPCC released six Assessment Reports and a series of four Special Reports on the IPCC Guidelines on National Greenhouse Gas Inventories, on Climate Change and Land, on Global Warning of 1.5°C, and on the Ocean and Cryosphere in a Changing Climate.?
