Seamless interfaces to accelerate research and medicine
关于我们
NeuroBionics is pioneering the future of precision bioelectronic medicine by developing the next generation of implantable devices, designed to seamlessly interface with the human body. Our core technology lies in flexible, multifunctional fibers the size of a human hair, which can record and stimulate neural activity, deliver drugs, and ablate tissue. Using an endovascular approach, we will navigate our microscopic-sized flexible fiber implant through the intricate network of blood vessels to deliver precise therapeutic intervention to neural tissue. By making neural interfacing a minimally-invasive procedure, we will revolutionize deep brain stimulation and broaden access to this lifechanging therapy. By doing so, we aim to improve the lives of millions grappling with conditions like Parkinson's disease, essential tremor, epilepsy, and depression.

NeuroBionics is making Deep Brain Stimulation minimally invasive though the development of nano fibers that are 10X thinner than traditional Deep Brain Stimulation leads - allowing them to be inserted endovascularly into the brain. NeuroBionics' founders Marc-Joseph Antonini and Nicolette Driscoll came on Focalpoint Partners' podcast to explain how their MIT spun-out tech is going to revolutionize treatment for stroke and other brain disorders. check it out! https://lnkd.in/guw5BssW Focalpoint Partners is proud to have NeuroBionics as a portfolio company Samantha Tabone

?? Exciting News from NeuroBionics! ?? We’re thrilled to announce that NeuroBionics has been awarded an NSF Phase I SBIR grant to support our neurotech development efforts! ?? This grant allows us to tackle one of the most challenging—and often overlooked—aspects of advancing novel neural probe technology: creating robust and streamlined connectors. While connectors might not be the most glamorous part of neural probe development, they are absolutely essential for reliability and performance. Thanks to this NSF support, we’re able to focus resources on engineering solutions that will enhance the durability, scalability, and ease of use of our groundbreaking neural interfaces. Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to push the boundaries of neurotechnology! ?? #Innovation #Neurotechnology #NeuroBionics

Thanks so much Richard Meiklejohn and Kyle Kruse ?? for featuring us on the #MedtechImpactPodcast!
Deep brain stimulation (DBS) is a neurosurgical procedure that treats neurological conditions by implanting electrodes into the brain to produce electrical impulses. These impulses can control abnormal brain activity and chemical imbalances that cause conditions like Parkinson's disease, essential tremor, and dystonia. ? Despite the benefits of DBS, less than 1% of the 25 million patients who are eligible to undergo the procedure opt-in due to the invasiveness of and risk associated with traditional open brain surgery. Nicolette Driscoll, CTO of NeuroBionics, joins this episode of the #MedtechImpactPodcast to share how their team is on a mission to change the status quo through bioelectronic medicine. NeuroBionics is developing devices that seamlessly integrate with the human body and aim to offer DBS with a minimally-invasive approach. ? As well as learning about this exciting technology, Nicky shares insights into the journey from academic researcher to entrepreneur, and how they decided to focus on a challenging commercialization journey that could positively impact patient lives. As one of the top startups in the UMassM2D2 accelerator program and recent winners of the 2024 Vision Award with MedTech Innovator, the NeuroBionics story is definitely one to follow, and is sure to leave you informed and inspired.
