Art at the heart of Purchase College, SUNY

关于我们

The Neuberger Museum of Art, located at the heart of Purchase College, SUNY, is a vital cultural resource of modern, contemporary, and African art for Westchester County, NY and beyond. From the mid-century American art and African art that form the core of the collection to the presentation of contemporary art, we continue the commitment of founding patron Roy R. Neuberger (1903-2010) by championing the art of our time.

  • We're hiring a Registrar! Located at the heart of Purchase College, State University of New York, the Neuberger Museum of Art was founded in 1969 with a promised gift of 300 works from Roy R. Neuberger— one of the greatest private collectors, philanthropists, and arts advocates of the twentieth century. Its collection has grown to over 6,000 objects by artists including Milton Avery, Romare Bearden, Willem de Kooning, Edward Hopper, Georgia O’Keeffe, and Jackson Pollock. Alongside its permanent collection, the Museum regularly mounts critically acclaimed special exhibitions. As an academic art museum, the NEU is an integral part of the College’s curriculum and study, and a center of teaching and learning for all stages of life. The registrar position requires a meticulous and organized individual to oversee the management of the Museum’s collections and exhibitions. The registrar is responsible for maintaining accurate records, facilitating loans and movement of artworks, and ensuring compliance with legal, ethical, and institutional standards. Exhibition management responsibilities include the issuing of loan agreements, planning and organizing the packing, shipping and insuring of loans to the Museum for exhibitions in coordination with lenders, shippers and in-house Museum staff, and reviewing all documentation, including but not limited to, traveling exhibition contracts as applicable. https://lnkd.in/eAKjfyc3
