A Love That Saves Lives ?? Kayleen and Travis' story is one of selfless love and resilience. Travis was diagnosed with IgA Nephropathy, a kidney disease, when he was just 10 years old. For years, he managed the condition—but during a routine check-up, his world was turned upside down. His kidneys were failing, leaving him with only 4% functionality. Faced with this life-threatening reality, Kayleen made an extraordinary decision: she would donate her kidney to save the love of her life. Her incredible act of courage and love gave Travis a second chance and a future filled with hope. You, too, can be a hero in someone’s story. Today, we get to celebrate Brett Milam Community Relations Associate and living kidney donor. "In December 2019, I donated my kidney to a stranger. And so, I've always looked at it as not having some big epiphany moment, but it was just like, this is easy to do, I can do this, let's go do it." As Brett said, let’s go do it. Living donation is a big way to make a difference, but you can also start empowering your community today by learning how to make healthy choices for your kidneys. We can help.
