Network180 is grateful for the Kent County Board of Commissioners' approval of the $750,000 grant through SAMHSA. This grant will allow Network180 to serve anyone who comes to the Behavioral Health Crisis Center regardless of insurance type, “The last thing we want to do if somebody is coming to us in crisis, especially with the stigma that has historically accompanied mental health and substance abuse disorders, is to turn them away at the door based on something about their insurance,” says Beverly Ryskamp, Network180's Chief Operating Officer. A collaboration with Trinity Health Grand Rapids, the BHCC is the first of its kind in Michigan. The Behavioral Health Crisis Center (BHCC) is available 24/7 for adults (18+) experiencing a mental health and/or substance use crisis. In addition to the 24/7 walk-in clinic, the BHCC features a crisis stabilization unit available to adults (18+) who need a more intensive crisis support, allowing for up to a 72 hour stay.
