The Behavioral Health Crisis Center (BHCC) is fully open. Walk-in service is available 24/7 for adults (age 18+) who are experiencing a mental health or substance use crisis. A crisis is self-defined. If a person feels they need help, the BHCC is open to them. It's located at 260 Jefferson Ave. SE in downtown Grand Rapids, on the Trinity Health MI Grand Rapids campus. Thank you to Waleed Alamleh at FOX 17 for stopping by the Behavioral Health Crisis Center to learn more and to bring this important information to the West Michigan community. https://lnkd.in/eXjq2y-E

Kristin Spykerman, Network180's Chief Clinical Officer joined Carrie Mull, the Administrative Director of Behavioral Health for Trinity Health Grand Rapids on WXMI's Weekly Wellness segment last week to discuss options for getting help when experiencing a behavioral health crisis instead of going to a local emergency department: https://lnkd.in/eZbbYKxE Thankfully, residents of Kent County have a number of options for getting help during a behavioral health crisis. 1.) 988 is available nationwide 24/7. A person can dial or text 988 from anywhere in the United States to be connected to help. Veterans can press "1" after dialing 988 to speak with speak with someone from Veterans' support. 2.) Network180 can be reached 24/7 by calling (616) 336-3909. 3.) For adults (age 18+) the Behavioral Health Crisis Center is open 24/7 for walk-in help. It is located at 260 Jefferson Ave SE in downtown Grand Rapids on the Trinity Health Grand Rapids Campus. 4.) Network180's Mobile Crisis Response is now availalbe 24/7 for adults and youth who are in crisis. If a person is unable to come to us, our Mobile Crisis team will go to them. What is most important is that people reach out for help when they need it, rather than waiting for their behavioral health to get worse. https://lnkd.in/eKVmnnUW

Network180 is grateful for the Kent County Board of Commissioners' approval of the $750,000 grant through SAMHSA. This grant will allow Network180 to serve anyone who comes to the Behavioral Health Crisis Center regardless of insurance type, “The last thing we want to do if somebody is coming to us in crisis, especially with the stigma that has historically accompanied mental health and substance abuse disorders, is to turn them away at the door based on something about their insurance,” says Beverly Ryskamp, Network180's Chief Operating Officer. A collaboration with Trinity Health Grand Rapids, the BHCC is the first of its kind in Michigan. The Behavioral Health Crisis Center (BHCC) is available 24/7 for adults (18+) experiencing a mental health and/or substance use crisis. In addition to the 24/7 walk-in clinic, the BHCC features a crisis stabilization unit available to adults (18+) who need a more intensive crisis support, allowing for up to a 72 hour stay.
