Calling all NETS members and private sector organizations! We challenge you to follow the organizations listed below in participating in the FIA – Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile Road Safety Index to measure your road safety impact and make road safety a priority.
Director, North America Office & United Nations Representative, FIA Foundation; Advisor, Health & Safety Hub, International Transport Forum & World Health Organization
Major takeaway from the 4th Global Ministerial on Road Safety: We are behind on the goals of the Decade of Action. We won't make progress without private sector action. But I'm hopeful, because of unprecedented private sector leadership. Major global companies adopted the Road Safety Index - a safety footprint akin to a carbon footprint - with power to revolutionize private sector action. This practical, market-driven tool helps organizations improve road safety while driving efficiency, reducing costs, and fostering innovation. Here are the fearless leaders that not only adopted the Index, but also received the highest rating: Amazon - Sarah C. Rhoads, Tim Goodman, Eli Pabon, Candace Key Uber - Roger Kaiser, Kristin Smith Waymo - Trent Victor TotalEnergies - Nathalie Brunelle Soulas IKEA - Elisabeth Munck af Rosensch?ld Honda - Hideaki Takaishi, Miwako Ikeda Scania Group - Jennie Edvardsson, Jacob Th?rn? Folksam - Anders Kullgren Shell - Timothy Sullivan The FIA Foundation supports the FIA – Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile's Index because: -> A third of fatalities on roads are among people on the job, or commuting. -> Motor vehicle crashes cost employers more than $72 billion annually in the US alone. -> Companies that prioritize safety save lives, reduce injuries, and boost efficiency. Do you have 20 minutes to help advance fleet safety? NETS is looking for companies operating within the supply chain who have middle- or last-mile delivery drivers to complete a short 20-minute anonymous survey about your fleet safety practices. Working with the Colorado School of Public Health, the results of the survey will inform NETS' supply chain fleet safety initiatives to improve delivery driver fleet safety. The survey can be completed online, or by contacting NETS to schedule a time to complete the survey over the phone. Please help us advance fleet safety and complete the survey, or share with your delivery contractors! https://lnkd.in/gsGB5-_p
