Long before social media, watercolour paintings recorded the places people visited and the adventures they had. From the album Reminiscences of North America, these works were compiled either for or by Thomas Evans Blackwell, general manager and vice-president of the Grand Trunk Railway (GTR) Company of Canada from 1858 to 1865. The album, which includes maps, photographs and watercolours of a personal and professional nature, mostly features scenes from along the routes of the GTR, but also includes views of the Canadian West and Niagara Falls. 1.
