#AutoCon2 Speaker Highlight: Jose Miguel Izquierdo - "Empowering DevOps: Harnessing Docs as Code for Automated Reports & Documents" Abstract: While automation gracefully handles every validation and command check, there’s still one hurdle left: the dreaded post-migration report! In a world of Docker, Jenkins and Grafana, why does the final leg feel so… manual? In this talk, we’ll embark on an automation odyssey, exploring how tools like Ansible, Markdown, Jinja2, Pandoc and GitLab can transform the tedious task of reports and/or docs generation into an efficient, dynamic process. Through tales of sleepless nights and automation triumphs, you’ll learn how to turn those post-intervention reports into masterpieces — leaving you more time to celebrate your successes (or catch some much-needed sleep)! Join me to uncover the hidden potential of the tools already at your fingertips and revolutionize the way that you document your work. It was great having Jose share this fantastic talk with our attendees in Denver at AutoCon 2! ?? https://lnkd.in/eBAUHnsC #NetworkAutomation #AC2Speaker #AC2VideooftheWeek

#AutoCon2 Speaker Highlight: William Collins - "Building the Business Case for Automation using Informal Channels" Abstract: Have you ever tried to make an impact with something great like network automation, but couldn’t find a way to get the attention of the people that can enable “buy-in” from the top down? Making impactful change across a large matrixed organization can be daunting, but it is doable. In this talk, I will dive into my first hand experiences in working my way up through the informal hierarchy, dragging network automation into the corporate spotlight, and partnering with various teams like change management to put focus on the people, processes, and culture to enable “buy-in” for automation at the corporate level. It was awesome having William join our stage and share his passion and knowledge with our attendees of AutoCon 2 in Denver! ?? https://lnkd.in/euNbXgri #NetworkAutomation #AC2Speaker #AC2VideooftheWeek

#AutoCon2 Speaker Highlight: Dan Wade - "Step 0: Test the Network!" Abstract: Many network engineers make configuration management their first use case for automation, but this can lead to significant mistakes. It’s easy to understand why—automating configuration changes at scale is a requirement for many network engineers these days. Besides time savings, automation brings consistency in how configuration changes are deployed across the network. However, any simple errors (i.e. a typo) are amplified with automation, which can lead to unexpected, widespread network outages. Given the risk associated with configuration changes, not to mention possible coding logic errors, it doesn't make sense that network engineers start with automating configuration changes. Instead, why not focus on read-only tasks that provide a wealth of information and have minimal risk of causing network outages??Automated network testing is a low-risk, high-reward activity within network automation that provides valuable insight into the current operating state of the network. Network testing performs predominantly read-only tasks that collect data from the network, which keeps it a low-risk activity, and executes assertions against provided network standards and other parameters, providing pass/fail results. In this presentation, we are going to dive into real-world success stories of how automated network testing can validate the state of branch office networks within minutes and how it can be incorporated with configuration management to lower the risk of unexpected network outages and other failures. We were so excited to have Dan speak at AutoCon 2, sharing his knowledge and passion for network automation with our attendees! ?? https://lnkd.in/eR4wsQQX #NetworkAutomation #AC2SpeakerHighlight #VideooftheWeek
