Dr. Victor Santoro Fernandes was awarded the 2024 NANETS Basic/Translational Science Investigator Award by NETRF's CEO, Elyse Gellerman, at this year's NANETS Multidisciplinary NET Medical Symposium. This prestigious award, funded by NETRF, supports early-career scientists in advancing neuroendocrine tumor research. This 100,000 grant will support Dr. Fernandes in his groundbreaking research that focuses on developing a model to enhance PRRT treatment for NET patients, paving the way for improved outcomes and personalized care. The Education and Research Foundation and Neuroendocrine Tumor Research Foundation are proud to announce that Dr. Ajay Kumar Sharma has been awarded the 2024 ERF/NETRF Nuclear Medicine Pilot Research Grant.Dr. Sharma is a Research Associate at Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Sharma’s research leverages the peptide-based agent AJ210, a dual-function platform that employs Gallium-68 for high-precision imaging and Actinium-225 for targeted #radiotherapy. This theranostic combination is poised to improve the diagnostic accuracy and treatment efficacy for patients with lung NETs. "This grant provides essential support to pursue my new ideas in diagnosing and treating #neuroendocrinetumors. It’s both inspiring and validating to have our work recognized in this way, and it strengthens my commitment to making a real difference for patients," says Dr. Sharma.
