Our Climate Intersections Working Group meets monthly and acts as a collaborative, upskilling platform for our 60+ leading nonprofit Members. During this period, Members and partners consulted on strategies and digital solutions for their climate programs, the Climate Strategy Framework and Climate Adaptation Assessment whitepapers were published. The stark reality of climate change demands urgent action, yet the financing needed for effective mitigation and adaptation often falls short. #Climatefinance, encompassing local, national, and transnational funding from diverse sources, is crucial for supporting initiatives that address the impacts of climate change.? ?? In response, NetHope's Climate Intersections Grant program aims to enhance climate adaptation and resilience by funding collective action projects that leverage digital technologies to maximize impact in humanitarian and conservation efforts.? ?? In Uganda’s Yumbe district, where over half a million people, including many refugees, face the impacts of climate change every day, we saw a critical need to amplify their voices.? Backed by Cisco and in collaboration with Ushahidi, we committed at COP28 to gather 1,000 unique perspectives from Yumbe, adding depth and human insight to climate data. Today, we're proud to announce we've exceeded that goal, transforming unheard stories into data that drives meaningful change.? In alignment with COP29 Azerbaijan's Local Communities and Indigenous Peoples Platform, we believe community knowledge is key to crafting effective climate solutions. Every voice from Yumbe helps us understand climate risk in new ways, reminding us that climate impact isn’t just a number—it’s a human reality.?
