???? Each country's healthcare system is unique, so we are proud to be named the world's second best in The Commonwealth Fund's comparative study, "Mirror, Mirror, 2024." The study analyzed 70 healthcare system performance measures in five areas: - access to care - care process - administrative efficiency - equity - and health outcomes. In addition to comparisons between residents with above-average and below-average income, the study examined healthcare system performance differences based on gender and location as well as patients' experiences of discrimination. The?Netherlands Innovation Network in Boston is calling on all women’s innovators in women’s health from the #UnitedStates and the #Netherlands to submit joint proposals for writing a white paper on key enabling technologies with a women’s health impact. ?? Women’s health has come a long way – but there is still a huge gap in the development of novel solutions to treat conditions that solely or disproportionately affect women. From Massachusetts to the Netherlands, problems with #funding, #data, #genderbias, exclusion from #clinicaltrials and more persist during every stage of the innovation pipeline, preventing women from receiving effective and life-changing treatment. This is why we need YOUR ideas about transatlantic #partnerships to further develop these technologies and novel solutions that have a women’s health impact. ?? €5,000 is available in funding per white paper. This funding can be used to explore a potential?partnership between American and Dutch organizations, or to expand on a topic both parties are already working on. ??Driving innovation in women's health: MMID Facilitates Women's Health Design Challenge in Boston?? ? We're proud to have supported the Women's Health Design Challenge hosted by the Netherlands Innovation Network in Boston. Over 1.5 days, Dutch and American innovators, led by our own Max Reice and Benjamin Mitchell, came together to tackle critical blockers in women's health today. ? Three teams of innovators, including experts from Organon, Vira Health, Advanced Solutions Life Sciences, TNO, social workers and universities, worked together on specific challenges that are reshaping the future of women's healthcare. Some of the key issues included: ? ?? Addressing disparities in access to personalized healthcare ?? Improving comprehensive reproductive health care ?? Improving equity in healthcare ? For us at MMID, this challenge wasn't just about innovative ideas; it was about addressing real healthcare needs and building lasting partnerships between some of the most influential organizations in the Netherlands and the US. Progress in health is all about a patient's voice, the innovator's resilience, and a sponsor's facilitation. The need for this holds very true for the underserved and undersponsored field of #WomensHealth. Great to experience the energy and creativity in last week's Women's Health #DesignChallenge to break away from that backlog. Greatly facilitated by the Netherlands Innovation Network in Boston I could team-up with an inspiring?mix of NL and US innovators and sponsors. In a pressure-cooker setting the MMID coaches Benjamin Mitchell and Max Reice supported our team, way outside our comfort zone, to come up with a novel support system for unmet needs of post-partum women. And, learning fast, we did! Thanks Tazrin Hossain, Kim Tran, and Carmen van Vilsteren for the experience, that I'll happily share with my colleagues on our Women's Health mission at #Organon.

What an fantastic experience! Boston trip organized with Health~Holland, Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) | Partner in Sustainable Development, Netherlands Innovation Network in Boston was amazing! The overall objective was to connect and to present how the dutch organization are working on Women's Health. We as chiron think that each of us is unique. In particular, if we look at gender...the difference is astonishing ! This is why we have participated! We want to better understand women's biology and find personalized medicine! What we gained from the event: ???? Collaboration and Connection: Global challenges demand global and interdisciplinary solutions. Women's health impacts everyone, which is why we were truly inspired by this group of innovators, including founders, researchers, clinicians, policymakers, and more, who were eager to learn from one another. ?? The Power of #DesignThinking: A human-centered approach is crucial in improving women's health and well-being. This method can drive meaningful change, and its significance cannot be overstated. ?? The Impact of Stories: Vulnerability isn't easy, so we were deeply moved by the courage of these innovators. Women's health touches us all, and the men in the room shared personal stories as fathers, sons, caretakers, and loved ones of women facing health challenges. While data is essential, sharing the personal 'why' behind these stories is a powerful catalyst for change. ???? What an intense couple of days of the Women's Health #DesignChallenge! This whole week has been a flurry of intense collaborations, all in the name of driving women's health forward. We are in awe of the talented American and Dutch innovators who are working diligently to ensure that #HealthEquity is achievable for all. It is impossible to share all of our learnings now as we are still digesting everything, but what we have witnessed from our #WomensHealth experts over the last two days is nothing short of inspirational. Working on innovative solutions for women's health can be daunting & demoralizing due to the history of women's health issues being underserved, underfunded, undervalued & underrepresented in but we come away from the design challenge bursting from with hope. ?? Some key takeaways: ???? We need to #collaborate & #connect: global challenges require global solutions - and interdisciplinary ones. Women's health affects everyone, which is why we were blown away by the openness of this group of innovators to learn from each other: founders, researchers, clinicians, policy makers and more. ?? The importance of #DesignThinking: the importance of a human-centered approach that can help improve women's health and well-being cannot be underscored. ?? Stories matter: being vulnerable is difficult so we were in awe of the bravery of the innovators. Women's health affects us all; the men in the room also had very personal stories as fathers, sons, caretakers and loved ones of women who lived in poor health. While facts and figures are necessary, sharing your 'why' is an effective tool for driving change. ???? What a week it's been!
