What is NERIS? Sean Gray from Cobb County Fire and Emergency Services asked firefighters what they wanted to know. One key takeaway: there’s a big opportunity to rethink how data is used in the fire service. NERIS will deliver real-time data to shape the future of incident response. We had the pleasure of taking questions from hard-working fire departments around the country on our most recent webinar. Captain Scott Leidner of San Bernardino County Fire Protection District asked about vertical ventilation documentation and gives an opportunity to show how NERIS will enable more comprehensive storytelling, tracking what happens on the scene after the fire service arrives and how certain tactics can contribute to saving American lives. As NERIS rolls out nationwide this year, the Pierre Rural Volunteer Fire Department has made history by submitting our platform’s first live incident report—a potential wildland fire on a local farm. As an early tester, they’ve already logged multiple incidents in 2025, noting the user-friendly interface and thorough data capture. By improving reporting efficiency and delivering richer insights, NERIS will help protect communities and save lives across America.
