NERIS was built for the fire service to help create efficiency and enhance safety. John Morrison, from Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department and Rescue, said in our webinar today, "Fire Safety Research Institute is creating a firefighter-first system. They’re not adding additional work, but asking a different flavor of questions to get us the data we need. This can inform gaps in training to stay relevant. Data can support our need for additional staffing.”

On 11/4, we will launch the National Emergency Response Information System V1. This is an important shift from testing and evaluation to operationalizing for the fire service. In our webinar today Dr. Lori Moore-Merrell opened by saying, "Having near real-time incident response data at the local level is a game changer. NERIS is going to be the foundation for innovation that will transform how we protect our communities for years to come."??
