At the 18th Annual Truman Symposium yesterday, Chief Tom Jenkins shared how data is transforming the fire service. With the rollout of NERIS Version 1, he emphasized that data-informed leadership is becoming essential—helping departments learn, adapt, and improve after every incident. Embracing data is a cultural shift that strengthens safety, effectiveness, and collaboration across the fire service. #TrumanSymposium #NERIS #FireServiceOneVoice https://lnkd.in/g-SF3xAy

关于我们
NERIS (National Emergency Response Information System) is the new national platform designed to document emergency responses in near real time. NERIS supports fire departments and first responders by providing efficient tools that address community needs and enable data-informed decision-making. Our platform is designed to help fire departments of all sizes respond to all hazards while enhancing public safety. The system is managed by the Fire Safety Research Institute (FSRI) and monitored Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM - 5 PM ET. In 1947, Harry S. Truman convened the National Conference on Fire Prevention, which emphasized the need to address the devastating effects of fire. We are proud to be presenting at this year's Truman Legacy Symposium. Come learn about the launch of NERIS Version 1 and how it will impact U.S. Fire Departments managing today's complex fire environment.

Did you see that we launched NERIS Version 1 earlier this week? We are adding 100 new departments just this month. Dr. Lori Moore-Merrell said it best in our recent webinar "With NERIS, we will have the tools to start answering questions we have had for decades. NERIS is built to address the full range of emergencies that firefighters face daily." https://lnkd.in/gwmcHn5C #FireServiceOneVoice #NERISReady

NERIS was built for the fire service to help create efficiency and enhance safety. John Morrison, from Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department and Rescue, said in our webinar today, "Fire Safety Research Institute is creating a firefighter-first system. They’re not adding additional work, but asking a different flavor of questions to get us the data we need. This can inform gaps in training to stay relevant. Data can support our need for additional staffing.”

On 11/4, we will launch the National Emergency Response Information System V1. This is an important shift from testing and evaluation to operationalizing for the fire service. In our webinar today Dr. Lori Moore-Merrell opened by saying, "Having near real-time incident response data at the local level is a game changer. NERIS is going to be the foundation for innovation that will transform how we protect our communities for years to come."??
