We had the amazing opportunity to partner with the University of Cincinnati, 1819 Innovation Hub's Rainbow Six Siege team in the Siege Showdown presented by Nerd Street! Supporting collegiate esports is a goal of ours, and we couldn’t be prouder to stand alongside these talented players as they showcased their skills on a big stage. The dedication they bring to Rainbow Six Siege truly set them apart with a Top 4 finish. Can't wait to see what is next for this group. We’ll be cheering you on every step of the way! ???? #Bearcats #Esports #RainbowSixSiege #Nerdstreet #UC #Gaming

If you’ve walked into Localhost Denver this year, you’ve definitely noticed the Quantum Fiber signage throughout the venue. That’s because earlier this year we announced Localhost Denver’s exciting multiyear partnership with Lumen’s Quantum Fiber. The partnership makes the internet service provider the official fiber internet partner of Localhost Denver. It’s a perfect match because high-speed internet is critical to providing a top-notch experience for our Localhost Denver customers. Localhost has leveraged Quantum's blazing fast infrastructure for years, making this a truly authentic partnership and a no-brainer for both parties. In addition to providing internet service and displaying significant high-visibility brand signage throughout the venue, Quantum has digital branding across all 100+ gaming stations and other in-house displays as well as in-person opportunities to engage with Localhost gamers. We’re proud of how Quantum has enhanced our customers’ experience at Localhost so far and look forward to a very fruitful partnership this year and beyond! #esports #videogames #gamers #highspeedinternet #fiberinternet

VALORANT was back in full force at Localhost Philly for Precision Protocol - our new VALORANT LAN tournament. Sixteen teams signed up for the soldout tournament. The majority of the teams were collegiate teams, with Drexel University representing Philly and Rutgers University, Rowan University and New Jersey Institute of Technology coming from nearby New Jersey. Syracuse University came all the way from upstate New York to compete. Virginia was well represented with schools like George Mason University, William & Mary and Northern Virginia Community College all traveling to Philly, and James Madison University sending multiple teams to compete in Precision Protocol. Virginia took the crown for most schools as well as the winner of Precision Protocol - Virginia Tech. The sheer number of collegiate teams and players at Precision Protocol shows that esports, and in particular VALORANT, is thriving at the collegiate level with so many schools and players eager to prove themselves in organized in-person competitions. At Nerd Street, we’re dedicated to fostering the growth of collegiate esports through tournaments like this one as well as through partnering with colleges and universities who want to grow and develop esports on their campus. Precision Protocol comes on the heels of our dedicated collegiate VALORANT tournament held at Localhost Philly last fall as part of our Mid-Atlantic Collegiate Series (MACS). The next MACS VALORANT tournament is coming up in April, and we hope to see many of these schools back at Localhost Philly for another exciting competition! #esports #videogames #valorant

For the second year in a row, Localhost Philadelphia held a gaming-themed Valentine’s Day event: Speed Gaming! The event was a unique way for gamers looking for their Player 2 to break the ice. We wanted Speed Gaming to provide a welcoming and low-stress environment for people looking for love - regardless of sexual orientation and preference - to meet their match through video games. The event isn’t just about matchmaking, it is an opportunity for individuals to find new friends and gaming buddies while bonding over a shared love of gaming. Speed Gaming proved to be very popular with 73 people registering for the event on a day when the Eagles held their championship parade. Participants were placed into rotating groups to play games like Mario Party, Mario Kart, Chained Together and Overcooked. The groups were periodically mixed up to allow people to meet as many fellow gamers as possible. In between rounds and at the end of the event, there was time allocated for free play, when the attendees could play tabletop and card games like Superfight, Cards Against Humanity, Poetry for Neanderthals, Incohearent and more. We could not have pulled off such a successful event without the help of Philly’s fave events hub, Wooder Ice. And we’re incredibly grateful for the heart-shaped pizzas provided by Lamberti Pizza & Market and the drink giveaways from sponsor Top Dog Cocktails! The pizza and cocktails were a big hit, and so was the presence of Philly-based relationship expert, dating coach and matchmaker Nada Rifai of Dating Practically. Nada had a line of people waiting to get advice from her almost the entire night. She was kind enough to stay a few minutes after the event just to make sure everyone who wanted to chat with her got a chance. Lucky guests were also treated to some amazing door prizes, including free game cards from Putt Shack, free ice skating from IBX River Rink and gift certificates from places like City Winery, Cavanaugh's Rittenhouse, Craftsman Row Saloon, Yards Brewing Co., Miss Saigon and more! We had a lot of happy attendees coming through the doors of Localhost Philly on Valentine’s Day - and it helped that some of them came from the Philadelphia Eagles’ Super Bowl championship parade that passed by right outside Localhosts’ doors on Broad Street. We wanted to share the Eagles love as much as possible, so as a bonus, we gave attendees wearing Eagles gear a discount to the event! Go Birds! Thanks to everyone who came out to Speed Gaming. We hope everyone who attended had a blast and look forward to doing it again next year! #videogames #gaming #valentinesday

As we step forward into the new year, there are a lot of exciting things that happened at our Localhost gaming venues last year that we want to shine a spotlight on. Here are just some of the highlights! In 2024, Localhost welcomed over 4,600 new members, and customers played nearly 73,000 hours on our PCs and gaming consoles. During the summer, Localhost saw over 1,000 young gamers come through the doors to participate in summer camps programs, some through our own Camp Localhost and others through our amazing partners like Philadelphia Parks & Recreation. Collegiate teams found a home at Localhost last year. Not only was Localhost Rowan a year-round home for Rowan University’s esports teams, we established a new series of in-person LAN competitions for universities at all of our Localhost venues. We created the Mid-Atlantic Collegiate Series (MACS) in Philly and Rowan and the Rocky Mountain Collegiate Series (RMCS) in Denver. Last fall, over 200 students on 20 collegiate teams got to experience the exhilaration of competing on LAN at Localhost. In addition to hosting exciting collegiate competitions through RMCS, Localhost Denver proved to be the premier destination for high school esports competitions in Colorado in 2024. The Colorado High School Activities Association (CHSAA) and Denver Public Schools both trusted Localhost to be the home for their esports championship finals last year. Governor of Colorado Jared Polis became a frequent guest at Localhost as he attended the DPS finals in addition to other events at the venue. Shoutout to Denver too for scoring some major partnerships in 2024 including Higround, Hue Lens, Quantum Fiber and Secretlab! With fresh new keyboards, high-speed internet, sleek new chairs and high-tech gaming glasses onsite to test out, we’re incredibly thankful these brands have partnered with Localhost to enhance our customer experience in Denver. Last but not least, we’re thankful BLAST chose Localhost Philadelphia as the place to produce the Rainbow Six North America League in 2024. The R6 NAL is a premier esports league, and we’re incredibly proud to have hosted the talent and run the broadcast out of our flagship Localhost venue in the heart of Philly. In 2025, we look forward to continuing to provide an outstanding experience to everyone who comes to Localhost and working with existing and new partners to create amazing events. See you at Localhost! #esports #videogames

Last weekend Localhost Philadelphia welcomed the Call of Duty community for a big Premier Circuit LAN tournament. The Premier Circuit holds tournaments that showcase some of the best Tier 2 and Tier 3 COD players in the country. After holding a major tournament at Localhost Denver earlier this year, this was the Premier Circuit’s first time at Localhost Philly. The 2-day tournament was known as the Destro Gaming Takeover, and Localhost was packed all weekend with players and fans as 43 teams took part in a heated competition in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. There were so many hype moments and trash talk flying across the venue that it made for an electric atmosphere. With casters onsite and a Twitch stream broadcasting all the action, it was truly a premier event. After the championship team was crowned, the team at The Premier Circuit had nothing but great things to say about their experience at Localhost, which is a credit to all the hard work of our team based at 401 N Broad St. 2024 has seen many exciting LAN tournaments take place at Localhost Philly, and the Destro Gaming Takeover was certainly one of the most memorable ones. As the calendar turns to 2025, we’re grateful for The Premier Circuit as well as all the other organizers who have trusted Localhost to be a home for their events! We look forward to seeing everyone back for even bigger and better events in 2025! #esports #gaming #videogames #callofduty #COD #LAN

Esports programs are increasing across campuses, yet most schools lack the space and resources to support their teams and engage their communities effectively. For too long, these programs have been forced to operate out of makeshift setups without the proper infrastructure. Imagine the frustration of talented collegiate players who can’t access the facilities they need to compete at the highest level. Or think about the missed opportunities for community involvement and academic integration when a school doesn’t have the resources to support its esports program. For schools and students alike, this gap is holding them back from achieving their full potential. But what if we had a model that offered students, faculty, and the community everything they need in one place? Enter “Localhost Rowan” at Rowan University—a facility that’s setting a new standard in collegiate esports spaces. Built and managed by Nerd Street, this isn’t just an esports venue; it’s a hub for innovation, learning, and community engagement. Picture a space where esports teams have 24/7 access to high-end PCs, dedicated team rooms, and a broadcast studio—plus a venue that doubles as a classroom and lab for other departments. Localhost Rowan provides the perfect environment for students to thrive academically and competitively while also welcoming the surrounding community for public events, summer camps, and national tournaments. With 7,203 sq feet, 70 PCs, and active console stations, Rowan is now positioned at the forefront of collegiate esports. Rowan University’s model, in partnership with Nerd Street, offers a sustainable way for colleges to create cutting-edge esports facilities without the massive costs of building and managing on their own. Localhost Rowan demonstrates how a well-integrated esports facility can benefit everyone—from students and faculty to local communities. Could this partnership model be the future for other colleges?

Last weekend was the start of our Mid-Atlantic Collegiate Series (MACS) tournaments at Localhost Philadelphia. Across two days, 22 teams from Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York and Virginia competed in Overwatch 2 and VALORANT. Thanks to all the teams who came out and congrats to the winners! Pennsylvania’s Arcadia University took home first place in Overwatch 2 and George Mason University, who traveled to Philly from Virginia, triumphed in VALORANT. The future of esports is being built through the thriving collegiate scene, which is why we are so excited to host exciting collegiate competitions like MACS. The next MACS tournament at Localhost Philly will be in a couple weeks, and Localhost Rowan is set to host their own MACS tournament next weekend! https://lnkd.in/gQeecw4b #esports #gaming #videogames #collegeesports #collegiateesports #valorant #overwatch

Localhost does more than just provide a space for people to come in and play video games -- it creates a space for communities. The last weekend of September showcased three different thriving communities at Localhost. In Denver, a recurring League of Legends event known as Lakewood League took place and brought together 21 teams to compete. The event has become one of the biggest amateur League of Legends LAN tournaments in the country and attracts some of the best amateur, high school and college teams and players in the area, and has even seen the Governor of Colorado Jared Polis himself drop by for previous events. In Philly, 386 people packed 401 N Broad for the third annual Blerd Bash. The event was put on by H.A.G. Entertainment, a community dedicated to celebrating hip-hop, anime and gaming. Blerd Bash included opportunities for participants to play games both casually and competitively - including a 52-person Tekken tournament - and featured a wide variety of vendors selling their anime and gaming-themed art, crafts and apparel. There also was a hip-hop and R&B dance party with a DJ onsite and a fun cosplay contest. At Rowan University, nearly 60 participants turned out for Break Through: Overdrive, a fighting games community (FGC) regional tournament including competitions in games like Tekken 8, Street Fighter 6, Guilty Gear Strive, Smash Ultimate and Rivals of Aether 2. Break Through brought together the growing communities in South Jersey that have developed around two biweekly meetups: Smash the Glass (a Smash Ultimate group) and Limit Break (an FGC group). Thanks to everyone who came out to Localhost this weekend - we hope to see you again soon! If you’d like to host your own event and build your community at Localhost, let us know: https://lnkd.in/gfHisPgX #videogames #esports #anime #nerdculture #community
