Breaking Biases: A Call to Understand Beyond First Impressions We all have biases—sometimes we break them, sometimes we reinforce them, and often, we are simply unaware of them. A striking example from my own experience occurred during a work-related phone call: upon hearing my accent, the caller immediately requested to "speak to my manager," without giving me a chance to demonstrate my competence. It was only after forming a personal connection over a mutual interest that these initial biases began to dissipate. This interaction reinforced my belief in forming Neopolis and in the importance of understanding who a person truly is, moving beyond superficial biases and static filters. ??
