If you're a high schooler in the #WRDSB region, you HAVE to read this: ???? The tech industry is only getting more and more competitive. This space is relentless and oftentimes unforgiving. Everybody wants to be engineers, but not everyone will get to be one. You have to stand apart from the competition to have a shot. But there's a problem. There aren't many ways to do it. It's hard to build a resume with genuinely unique accomplishments. However, there's a new group changing competitive programming. The NeoDev League is running its first event on October 26, and applications are open now: https://neoleague.dev/ It's going to be an all-day engineering competition where schools send out teams of 10 to build a project in just 10 hours. There's nothing you can do as a high schooler quite like this. This is how you can set yourself apart; winning an engineering competition for your school. If you apply now, you may be able to secure a spot on your school's team: https://lnkd.in/ge6azCvs #highschooler #engineering #tech #opportunity

Let's be honest; hackathons are getting BORING. They're cool, but they're repetitive. Overnight hackathons shouldn't be the only fun engineering events for high schoolers. Luckily, it isn't anymore. The first Neo Developer League event is happening very soon, and you're invited. On October 26, 16 teams of 8-10 students from the WRDSB will each build an awesome project in just 10 hours, and present it to judges who will decide on a winner. "But how is this different from a regular hackathon?" Well, Each team is made up of students from the same school. Participants will team up with their fellow classmates and go up against other schools' teams to find out who really has the better engineers. You're competing for your school. Your school's name and reputation is on the line. Competitors have just 10 hours to complete the project, which is based on a GIVEN prompt; a real world issue to solve. While the prompt will be the same for all teams, there'll be all sorts of creative solutions, making the winners really stand out. This event is going to feel more competitive than any hackathon you've ever been to. If you're up for the challenge, apply to secure a spot on your school's team here: ?? https://lnkd.in/ge6azCvs (BTW: there'll be prizes, and free food too).
