Building Community Through the Arts! ?? ?? At NEMPAC, we believe that art has the power to connect, inspire, and enrich lives at any stage. That’s why we’re deepening our roots in the North End by expanding programs for adults 55+ in collaboration with the Nazzaro Community Center and Boston Center for Youth and Families. From beginner ukulele classes with Steve Allen to Musical Bingo & Paint Night with Laurel Greenfield Art, and even a disco-themed dance class, we’re fostering creativity, connection, and joy through music and movement. Most recently, our Opera: Listen & Learn series introduced audiences to the history and beauty of opera through live performances by incredible NEMPAC artists. And we’re just getting started! Thank you to the Boston Celtics Foundation and to our 52 students, families, and community volunteers who supported North End Music & Performing Arts Center (NEMPAC) at the Celtics game at TD Garden last Friday, Dec 27th! $20,660 was raised and we were the proud 501c3 beneficiaries of the 50/50 raffle. Thank you to all who donated their time and dollars to support our NEMPAC mission to make the Arts accessible to all. ?? North End Music & Performing Arts Center (NEMPAC) began its Open Mic Night’s as a virtual program during the pandemic and thanks to the support of our partners Boston Public Market Association and Castle Island Brewery, the artists who join us, and our incredible staff & faculty - we now host 2X free events each month that feature between 10-15 artists. We are thrilled to announce generous support from the Molly Abrano Foundation to support music scholarships. This foundation was created in memory of Molly Abrano by her family members in celebration of her love of music and to help others have access to the arts. Executive Director, Sherri Snow, states, "We are deeply grateful to the Molly Abrano Foundation for their generous support of our music program through this restricted scholarship gift. This contribution enables us to provide students with the opportunity to pursue their musical education and we are fortunate to carry on the spirit of Molly Abrano through the power of music." Last night, we gathered together to celebrate the transformative power of the arts at NEMPAC’s Annual Meeting held at the Nazzaro Center, North End. Thank you to all who attended including our leadership, staff, faculty, students and community members. We honored your incredible contributions to our mission—whether through volunteering, attending live concerts, participating in programming, or advocating for arts education—each of these actions has played a vital role in uniting our communities and enriching our lives.
