Our 2025 Business Survey is now open?? We're calling for as many Nelson Tasman businesses as possible to complete the survey to ensure the survey strongly represents the region. Bought to you in collaboration with Nelson Tasman Chamber of Commerce, and with support from NBS; we need input from regional businesses of all sizes, across all sectors.? ? The survey collects information from within the Nelson Tasman business community on a range of current and emerging issues for business so we can act on your priorities and best represent the region locally and nationally. Late last year we were overjoyed to see Huapae, a design created as part of our new destination brand for Nelson Tasman, shared on the front window of the The Suter Art Gallery Te Aratoi o Whakatū. Huapae was crafted by artist and carver Hemi Sundgren (Ngāti Tama ki Te Tau Ihu, Te ātiawa, Ngāti Toa, Ngāti Raukawa) and is an expression of our shared purpose (kaupapa) of connection and guardianship over these lands. It incorporates traditional Māori patterns, such as niho (serrated motifs) symbolizing the Maungatapu and Richmond Ranges, and haehae (parallel lines) that evoke the rythmic tides of Aorere and Taitapu Bays; Huapae flows with the geography, life force (mauri), and enduring beauty of Nelson Tasman. Ngā mihi nui (many thanks) and gratitude to Hemi Sundgren, Rachel Taulelei & Tabitha Harris from OHO for their mahi and support; and to Will Murphy at The Suter Art Gallery Te Aratoi o Whakatū for allowing us to share this special piece with our community.
