Excellent follow-up opinion piece about women of color in nonprofit work. This article highlights the issues that people of color, especially women, face in the nonprofit space. At two recent events held by funders (NBA Foundation & Valley of the Sun United Way), every other person we met was a woman of color running a small nonprofit. Unlike most of their white counterparts, they are still working a full-time job in addition to their nonprofit work. And they are unstoppable. At NM, our core values include Leadership Development. Many of the staff (and leaders) will be introduced as someone, "who grew up here at Neighborhood Ministries."
