Earlier this week, our CEO and members of our leadership team stopped by the Community Resource and Wellness Center at 282 Meridian Street in East Boston to help our incredible team of care navigators and volunteers?distribute food to our community. These dedicated individuals distribute 10,000 lbs of food to more than 300 households every week! Working with essential partners like American Red Cross of Massachusetts Bay Food Pantry, Spoonfuls, The Greater Boston Food Bank and?AmeriCorps, we ensure that each bag we pack contains healthy and appealing food our community can depend on.? ? NeighborHealth was proud to sponsor Suffolk University’s second annual Career Equity Conference, an event that brought together leaders, advocates, and changemakers focused on advancing equity in our communities. ? As Mimi Gardner, our Chief Equity Officer, shared, "We must actively work together to dismantle systems of oppression and build a more just and inclusive society." Her breakout session on building partnerships for social change emphasized the importance of collaboration, amplifying voices, and creating sustainable solutions. ? We’re also grateful to our Diversity Council members, Elisa Sosa, and Elida Acu?a, for their continued efforts in building inclusive health systems at #NeighborHealth. Together, we are making progress toward a future where equity is a reality for all.

From a breathtaking mural by internationally acclaimed Colombian street artist LEDANIA at our Taylor Building in East Boston to 18 curated works by local artists displayed at our Revere offices, this collaboration celebrates the beauty and diversity of our community. ? These pieces highlight themes of wellness, connection, and identity, reflecting the rich stories of our patients and neighborhoods. Art has always been part of NeighborHealth’s mission to foster healing and inclusion, honoring the legacy of our founder, Dr. James Taylor, who believed in the transformative power of art. ? NeighborHealth was proud to take part in the 27th annual Winthrop Community Health Forum this Wednesday. In true NeighborHealth tradition, our amazing nursing staff, led by our fantastic Interim Chief Medical Officer Dr. Julio Mazul, offered free flu and COVID vaccines to the Winthrop community, including to the event's founder and longtime health center advocate, Former Senator Bob DeLeo! Neighborhood PACE was there to share information about our nearby senior healthcare program, as were more than a dozen other community organizations committed to the health of this seaside town. The Winthrop High School hockey team served as great volunteers and ambassadors for the event, and Coach Mark D'Ambrosio and Dr. Pramodchamdra Shah offered inspiring stories on their personal journeys and commitment to giving back. Yesterday, we had the pleasure of hosting representatives from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), and MassHealth at NeighborHealth. Together, we engaged in meaningful discussions on addressing maternal morbidity and health disparities among women of color—especially those facing postpartum hypertension. ? We’re collaborating on a pilot project to close these gaps. This partnership represents a powerful step towards a healthier future for all women in our community. We are expanding our 20 Maverick Square outpatient facility in East Boston! This project will add 27,000 sq. ft. of clinical space and 60 additional exam rooms, enabling us to accommodate thousands of new primary pare patients over the next decade. Read more below.
