Day One at the #ReframeConference in Detroit, Michigan, has been an inspiring start! Grateful to participate in the City Tour led by The City Institute. The City Institute’s mission to share lessons learned with other cities resonated deeply with us. From urban revitalization efforts to community-led initiatives, Detroit offers valuable insights on how cities can rebuild and empower communities while honoring the unique history and culture that make each place special. One of the highlights was a stop at Central Detroit Christian Community Development Corporation, where we experienced firsthand the impactful work they’re doing to uplift and empower the community. It was inspiring to see how their initiatives are transforming lives and building stronger neighborhoods. The tour also took us to Rosa's Coffee shop, a small black-owned neighborhood coffee shop and to the historic Guardian Building in downtown Detroit. Standing inside this architectural masterpiece was a reminder of Detroit’s rich history and resilience—a symbol of the city’s enduring spirit and innovation. Feeling energized by the connections, insights, and inspiration from today.
