Last week, Neglia Group's Director of Planning, Lyndsay Knight, PP, AICP, was invited to be the speaker for New Jersey Association of Planning & Zoning Administrators' (NJAPZA) member webinar. The webinar was entitled, "New Year, New Strategies: Setting Your Land Use Office Up For Success in 2025." Lyndsay presented on the best practices and strategies you can implement in land use offices to be more efficient and thorough in land use reviews. Great work, Lyndsay!

Introducing the new Kearny Boathouse Dock: Neglia Group assisted the Town of Kearny with permitting, design, and construction management of the dock and associated site work on the Passaic River. The project was funded by a Green Acres grant. Historically, the Boathouse Dock has served the Belleville, Nutley, and Kearny public high school rowing crews well. Originally built at this location in 1964, the dock has supported over 60 years worth of rowing challenges and success. The upgraded dock will continue this legacy! Last week, the ramps were installed, creating access to the new 240-foot dock. It is one of the longest public school docks in the United States. The next round of improvements will be discussed at a public hearing this evening. Take a look at the "Before" and "After" photos of the dock:

This morning, Neglia internship mentors Gary Veenstra, PLS, CFS and Danielle M. visited the Eastern Christian School High School campus to celebrate Gianmarco’s internship this past semester! The firm was able to connect with senior Gianmarco through his high school WINGS career internship program. The WINGS program allowed him to explore his interests in civil engineering, and our professionals were glad to show him the ropes. What a wonderful opportunity to present real-world projects and teach applicable industry skills to a future engineer!

Neglia Group’s GIS Team attended the GIS Day event at Montclair State University last week! Students and faculty shared great insight into the new GIS technology being learned in their growing program at the University. Compliments to all of the students who were engaged and asking great questions! The future is bright in GIS!

For this holiday season, our Neglia team has come together to offer food donations to New Hope Community Ministries. New Hope supports residents of Haledon and Prospect Park who live below the poverty line, providing emotional, spiritual, and material aid in a variety of ways, including a food pantry. Neglia recently had the opportunity to work alongside New Hope by providing Surveying services for their new building that will soon house their expanding food pantry. To show our support for the communities we serve, our staff was able to fill many shelves in the food pantry! We hope our contributions help brighten this Thanksgiving season for many families.
