We are excited to announce the launch of Needed Academy, a first-of-its kind perinatal health program designed for and by our collective of more than 4,000 women's health experts. We started Needed, and launched Needed Academy, to address the critical need for expert-backed nutritional education and support for fertility, pregnancy, and postpartum. With the average prenatal appointment in the U.S. lasting only 12 minutes—often neglecting nutrition entirely—many women are left in the dark during a pivotal time for maternal and fetal health. This lack of nutrition education has led to a crisis in which women's optimal nutritional needs are not widely addressed. Alarmingly, 95% of women are nutritionally depleted before, during, and after pregnancy. Needed Academy is an Instagram-native learning center designed to educate our health practitioners, advocates, influencer partners and curious mothers and mothers-to-be. Motherhood brings about profound transformations. Needed Co-Founder Ryan Woodbury's personal encounters with 'mom brain' were a struggle and after a smooth pregnancy and birth, it blindsided her on her return to work. This shift led to the development of our Cognitive Support product. It combines years of research and personal insights to create a blend of breastfeeding safe nootropics to alleviate brain fog, improve focus, and promote overall brain health, helping mothers feel like themselves again.
